The agent for Villarreal strike prodigy Josmer Altidore says his client could remain with the Yellow Submarines this season or he could head out on loan to any of a number of exciting European destinations, with the deciding factor being the best assurance of quality playing time.
The U.S. National Team regular was limited to just La Liga six outings over the first half of last season, and then went without an appearance during a winter-to-summer loan spell with second flight champs Xerez.
"I talk with Villarreal everyday," Lyle Yorks told Soccer365. "It's an ongoing thing. There's loads of interest in taking Jozy on loan."
"There are many La Liga teams ready to take him, as well as teams in the Premiership and the Bundesliga, and Olympiakos in Greece. We've talked to Dutch clubs, but none of those talks have become serious."
After showing fairly well at Confederations Cup though fresh off a minor surgery recovery, Altidore admitted to being a bit disappointed with his tourney performance and adamant on having regular pitch time during this upcoming pre-World Cup club campaign.
"We are looking at all the options, doing our due diligence to ensure he's in a situation where he can play," stated Yorks. "We are talking to sporting directors and coaches to figure out which situation is best for him."
Altidore has been added to the USMNT's expanded CONCACAF Gold Cup roster, though it is unclear for how many or which matches he will be available.
