Watford captain Jay DeMerit will likely miss Tuesday's Championship visit to Plymouth after hobbling out of Saturday's victory over Crystal Palace with a calf ailment, but should be back in action before long.
The U.S. international left the match just before the hour mark to avoid a strain, and could return in time to make their short weekend trip to Charlton.
"He's got a tight calf," Hornets press officer Scott Field told Soccer365 on Monday afternoon. " He is in doubt for the game against Plymouth."
"(Subbing him out) was precautionary - he came off before it could get any worse."
With three straight victories to their credit, DeMerit and Watford have moved away from the trap door and into 17th place.
