Columbus boss Sigi Schmid has made it known he will be most concerned with New York strike ace Juan Pablo Angel in Sunday's MLS Cup clash, but also noted that his players will need to careful monitor playmaker Dave van den Bergh as well.
The versatile Dutch veteran has been among the league's most consistent performers in 2008, and the Crew have taken due notice.
"Maybe (Kansas City) gave up on him too early, but he's fit in New York's system very well," Schmid told the Daily News. "He's played a number of different positions."
"He's able to get his foot around the ball and still curl the ball in into dangerous positions."
"He does a lot of dirty work as well," added the coach. "He does a lot of defending on that side of the field."
