Lampard: Needs scan on thigh

Lampard only joined up with the England squad on Tuesday after playing in Chelsea's Champions League final win over Bayern Munich on May 19.

But already it appears that his Euro 2012 campaign is in doubt, with Jordan Henderson on standby.

Lampard enjoyed a renaissance under interim boss Roberto Di Matteo at Chelsea in the second half of last season and helped the Blues lift the Champions League for the first time.

It helped to cement his place in the England squad for Poland and Ukraine after a season that began amid doubts over Lampard's continuing effectiveness at the very highest level.

Yet, if today's injury setback does rule him out of Euro 2012, it could be that

Lampard has played his last major tournament for England as he turns 34 in

June.
