Gentenaar: Lines up for VVV Venlo

The striker is set to join from Enugu Rangers but has yet to obtain a work permit following his return from Under-20 World Cup duty with Nigeria in Colombia.

Venlo had hoped Nwofor would be able to make his debut but director of football Mario Captein revealed that would not be the case.

"He must get his work permit in Nigeria yet," said Captein, in quotes reported on the Voetbal International website.

"That's a formality, but there must be a long journey with various stops to make. Before the end of this week was not feasible. During next week Uche will be with us."

Nwofor's compatriot and Nigerian Under-20 team-mate Ahmed Musa will be available to face Ajax after returning to training with his club following his trip to Colombia.

Goalkeeper Dennis Gentenaar will also line up for VVV after the club rejected a bid to sign him from Ajax.

"We wanted to know where we stand, because if Dennis had left, we had still to find a replacement," said Captein.

"So we set a deadline. That elapsed, so Dennis will be with us."

Cameroonian midfielder Eyong Enoh has vowed to give Ajax coach Frank de Boer 100% despite not figuring as a first choice ahead of Sunday's clash.

The Amsterdam club lie joint top with Feyenoord with two wins from as many games and Enoh sees his future with them despite injury further hampering his chances.

Enoh will be out for between two and four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the win over Heerenveen.

"Although I do not play much, I feel good," Enoh told the Ajax website.

"Since joining Ajax I have always done my best for the team. I continue to do that."

Enoh, who has a contract until the summer of 2015, added: "I must simply adapt to the situation, make the best of it and keep looking at the positive side."

Enoh has been impressed by Thulani Serero who joined Ajax through the same feeder club in Cape Town as he did.

"He has quickly adapted to the system of Ajax. That's very clever," said Enoh.

Feyenoord midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo will come into contention for the game at Heracles after returning to training.

Mokotjo missed the win over Roda after suffering a slight ankle injury playing for Young South Africa.

He has returned to training and took a full part in Wednesday's session, which was good news for coach Ronald Koeman.

But defender Bart Schenkeveld is not ready to return to full training as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

Sunday's two other games see PSV Eindhoven looking for their second win of the season away to ADO Den Haag and AZ Alkmaar at home to NEC.

Roda and RKC Waalwijk open the weekend's action on Friday evening.

On Saturday Vitesse Arnhem will want to continue their good start to the season which has seen them take four points from two games.

Their opponents Utrecht will look for their first win after drawing both of their games so far.

Third-placed FC Twente, like Ajax and Feyenoord on a 100% league record so far, visit Heerenveen, bottom side Excelsior are at home to De Graafschap and NAC Breda face FC Groningen.
