Report: Obafemi Martins set to be released from contract ahead of rumored move to Seattle Sounders

Obafemi Martins looks set to move one step closer towards becoming a member of the Seattle Sounders.

Martins' current club, La Liga side Levante, will reportedly receive .9 million ( million euros) to release the Nigerian forward from his contract on Monday, according to reports out of Spain. The move to make Martins a free agent is expected to pave the way for him to complete his long-rumored move to Seattle as a Designated Player.
