A pair of Americans Abroad rang the bell on Wednesday, with Malaga defender Oguchi Onyewu marking his first start for the club with a goal in a 4-3 Spanish Cup win at Cacereno.

The burly U.S. international guided home a free kick header just four minutes in for the game's first goal.

Meanwhile, in Austrian Cup action, Terrence Boyd notched a goal and assist in Rapid Vienna's 4-2 fightback win over Altach.

The forward leveled matters from the doorstep on 73 minutes to send the game to overtime.

Italian action saw Michael Bradley work 67 minutes in AS Roma's 3-2 loss at Parma.

Over in England's League Cup, Clint Dempsey missed the tying spot kick saved near time of Tottenham's 2-1 loss at Norwich City.

Meanwhile, David Yelldell served as back-up keeper as Bayer Leverkusen advanced with a 3-2 win at Arminia Bielefeld.

In Portuguese League Cup play, Tony Taylor departed near the hour of Estoril's 1-1 draw with Uniao da Madeira.

Up north in the Danish Cup, Charlie Davies helped Randers FC move forward in the tourney with a 1-0 victory ay Vejle BK.

In nearby Sweden, Alejandro Bedoya and Helsingborg blanked IFK Gothenburg 2-0.
