Clint Dempsey finalized his transfer from Fulham to Tottenham as the summer transfer window was slamming shut and all agree that the Hotspur picked up a great player.

The London club announced on Monday that the U.S. international will wear the #2 soccer jersey and the World Soccer Shop is the first on the scene with the official Clint Dempsey replica soccer jersey.

It should be no big surprise that the players known as ‘the deuce’ grabbed on to the #2 soccer jersey.

Dempsey joins former U.S. international Brad Friedel at the club. The pair will work to earn the side a top finish and who knows maybe with a good run of form they could grab a Champions League berth for next season and even some Premier League silverware.

The forward/midfielder will have to work to earn a place in the starting lineup while Friedel will be working to hold on to his position. Tottenham also signed French international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris so the battle to be the number 1 has heated up.

Head coach Andre Villas-Boas has said that Lloris was not signed just to replace the older Friedel and must earn his place between the sticks.
