Aguero’s Puma Dresden Pounces

Sergio Aguero was bought by Manchester City from Atletico Madrid to do two things: score goals and win championships. And the Argentinean came through on both counts in the Citizens final match of the season with a goal late in injury time to secure the Barclays Premier League title.

The fantastic finish was the culmination of the inaugural season for Aguero. The striker slotted home 30 goals – 23 in league action, 5 in Europe and 2 in domestic cup action – on the campaign. The goal output earned Aguero the bronze boot on the Premier League scoring table behind Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, who for a moment appeared to have scored the goal to give the Red Devils the title.

The boot of choice of Kun Aguero is the PUMA v1.11 in the Dresden Blue/White/Lime Punch colorway. The boot is the next version in lightweight evolution of professional cleats that gives you the confidence to be your fastest!

Aguero was brilliant for City and not only scored the game winner but did much of the donkey’s work as well. With time running out, Aguero showed back to receive the ball from Nigel de Jong 30 yards from goal. Aguero looked up and found Mario Balotelli at the top of the box. The Italian did well to turn hold off two players and while going to ground push the ball back to space in the box where Aguero ran on to the ball, push it by a defender and blasted his winner.

Aguero Soccer BootBelief! It was Aguero’s belief that put him in position to win the title. He easily could have stopped his run after playing into Balotelli.

The game was not the only time Aguero showed his belief in his side. When Manchester City fans as well as coach Roberto Mancini had given up hope in mid-April with Manchester United leading on the table by 5 points, Aguero kept the faith maybe even foreseeing the craziness of the final day.

"Football is strange,” he told BBC Radio. “When United come here [on 30 April] we will see what happens.”

Manchester City went on to win that match as well as their final two matches to take the title, their first domestic league title since 1968.
