adidas are proud to reveal the Official Match Ball for the UEFA Champions League Final Munich 2012 - the adidas Finale Munich.

The ball was unveiled in front of the Fussball Arena München - home of the UEFA Champions League Final 2012. The adidas Finale Munich debuts on pitches throughout Europe as of tonight and tomorrow during the first R16 knock out stage matches and will be played all the way through to the final.

The adidas Finale Munich builds on the iconic star logo which has become synonymous with the tournament and features Munich-inspired graphics including the official UEFA Champions League Final logo and word mark. The graphics are inspired by the shape of the iconic Fussball Arena München, the home of the Final. Blue and aqua tones in the design have been taken from strong influences of the reflection of modern architectural materials, which build the UEFA Champions League Final Munich 2012 brand identity.

2012 marks the 20th final in UEFA Champions League history with the first final being held in Munich. The tournament's heritage is reflected in the ball design with a 'From Munich to Munich' theme which references each final on each white panel.

Munich has a proud history of hosting European Cup finals, having staged three previous finals in the city's Olympic Stadium. The UEFA Champions League Final Munich 2012 will be the first in the Fussball Arena München which opened in 2005, prior to the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm).

The adidas Finale Munich is the seventeenth Official Match Ball adidas has produced for the UEFA Champions League competition, leading on from a rich history in adidas football development. Since 1970 the Official Match Balls of all major UEFA and FIFA tournaments have been made by adidas and for the third year in succession adidas is the "Official Supplier" of the Africa Cup of Nations Official Match Ball.

The adidas Finale Munich will not only be used on field during the UEFA Champions League final on May 19th when the teams take to the pitch for the final. The ball will also, for the first time, be used in the upcoming knockout matches of this year's tournament.
