Diame: Could be on his way out of Wigan this summer

It is believed Diame has been allowed to leave the Senegal squad to hold talks with several top-flight suitors.

It appears the 24-year-old, who is out of contract with the Latics, could be set to leave the DW Stadium on a free transfer this summer.

A number of clubs are thought to be interested in Diame, who has impressed in a difficult campaign which saw Wigan narrowly sidestep relegation.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has been linked with the vacant managerial post at Liverpool and reports suggest the Anfield club are also keen to bring Diame to Merseyside.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa are among the other clubs thought to be chasing the Senegal international, who joined Wigan from Rayo Vallecano in 2009.
