Stockdale: Ipswich loan move

The Cottagers have tied down the 25-year-old on a four-year contract extension after he produced some impressive first-team displays last season.

Stockdale earned rave reviews after saving a penalty in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United and his fine form saw him scoop the club's official Player of the Month award for August.

He was given a further run in the side when Mark Schwarzer headed out to the 2011 Asian Cup with Australia and the Cottagers have now allowed him to pursue regular action at Ipswich.

A statement on the club website read: "Fulham football club is pleased to announce that David Stockdale has signed a four-year extension that sees his contract expire with the Club in the summer of 2015.

"The goalkeeper has with immediate effect joined Ipswich Town, on a season-long loan.
