We all know it’s time for Roman to bring the “Special One” back to Stamford Bridge. It just depends how badly Mr. Abramovich wants to win. Will it cost big money? Sure it will, but everything good does nowadays, doesn’t it?

Chelsea soccer jerseyBring Jose Mourinho back and he brings that lovely habit of winning every weekend with him. If not, Chelsea will continue to toil in what could be considered by their standards to be mediocrity.

The new England manager should be David Beckham. No offense to Harry or Bruce Arena (somebody actually thinks he could manage England!)…but David would provide more motivation than anybody on the planet for a team in much need of a good shot in the arm.

Can we please stop all the talk about how Landon Donovan should stay at Everton! We all KNOW he should stay, but he won’t. We’ve been through this with him a few times already and he ALWAYS comes back. In order to EVER be considered the best American soccer player of all time, he HAS to put in a few years in the best league in the world…not just ten weeks.

Clint Dempsey has laid claim to the best American soccer player on the planet right now. There is NO argument. His audacious goal against Stoke showed how much confidence and ability he has right now and it is unrivaled amongst American soccer players. He is the best and is bent on proving it against the best players in the world week in and week out. How he didn’t go to one of the top clubs in the league over the break is beyond me. I had the chance to watch D.C. United’s Andy Najar live the other day in a preseason scrimmage and he was EASILY the best player on the field. It’s too bad the United States couldn’t land him for national team duty but at least we can enjoy his talents stateside until he goes to Europe.

FYI – Josh Wolff is still out there…with D.C. United. So is Bobby Convey (Sporting KC)…

MLS Preseason continues in Arizona with D.C. United and RSL facing off Tuesday right before lunch. The days are sunny and clear and the soccer isn’t half bad…take in a game if you can sneak out of work for a bit (but DO NOT lose your job over it!).
