Anichebe: Impressed for Moyes' men

Anichebe, who scored in the closing stages of Monday's game against Newcastle, was instrumental in a bright start for Everton as the Toffees stormed out of the blocks, forcing a good save from Michel Vorm in the first minute.

The Everton striker, who hadn't scored in any of his 16 Premier League starts before today, opened the scoring on 22 minutes, finishing from six yards after a Marouane Fellaini knockdown. His Belgian counterpart Kevin Mirallas made it 2-0 before half-time, heading home for his debut goal from a couple of yards out after his initial effort had rebounded off the crossbar.

Swansea struggled to impose themselves on the game, although top goalscorer Michu and Angel Rangel tested Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard. Their frustration was evident when half-time substitute Nathan Dyer was sent off ten minutes after coming on for a second yellow card after a reckless challenge on Leighton Baines.

Everton sealed the points when Fellaini finally got his goal, rising highest to head the ball beyond Michel Vorm from a Baines free-kick.
