Not since Dietmar Hamann's goal at the old Wembley in October 2000 have the Three Lions lost a World Cup qualifier on home turf, and for long periods Yevgen Konoplianka's breathtaking 25-yard curler looked like it was going to put an early dent in England's bid to reach Brazil 2014.

England can, however, consider themselves unfortunate to not claim all three points in the Group H clash on Tuesday night, with Jermain Defoe seeing an effort harshly disallowed, and both Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck hitting the post before Lampard's late penalty earned the hosts a point.
