Berbatov: Linked with Fiorentina switch

The 31-year-old is currently down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Robin van Persie.

Fiorentina have bolstered their own squad with 12 new players, but they still want somebody to lead their line and Berbatov is their main target.

It is believed the Viola have held talks about doing a deal, but the Bulgarian has been told he would need to reduce his current wage level if he were to seal a move to Tuscany.

Should a deal for Berbatov fail to materialise then Fiorentina are understood to have a list of targets that includes Lyon's Lisandro Lopez, Roma's Marco Borriello and Hoffenheim's Ryan Babel.
