Gecov: Moves to Gent

The 24-year-old managed just two appearances for the Cottagers after joining from native side Slovan Liberec on a two-year contract last summer.

Gecov's agent, Jiri Mueller, says the once-capped Czech Republic international is hoping to get more regular playing time at Gent.

He told Czech news agency CTK: "The main reason for the change is for Marcel to play more.

"It was not certain if his position at Fulham would improve. At Gent he will be given a better chance and he could come back under the radar.

"Moreover, he will have a better contract there."

Fulham confirmed Gecov's departure on their official website on Monday, saying: "FFC would like to thank Marcel for his efforts during his time in SW6 and wishes him all the best for the future."
