Clyne: Could be set to leave Palace to join Southampton

Clyne is out of contract at Selhurst Park but Palace are still entitled to a fee for the 21-year-old defender.

Saints boss Nigel Adkins wants to give the highly-rated full-back an opportunity in the Premier League and is keen to secure a bargain deal for the London-born player.

The England Under-21 international has played more than 100 games for the Eagles since coming through the youth system and had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Palace manager Dougie Freedman is reluctant to lose Clyne, but the player is believed to be determined to move on.
