Carroll: Set to start

Reports suggest that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be dropped to the bench to allow Carroll to come into the side to exploit Sweden's aerial weakness.

Six of Sweden's last seven conceded goals have been headers, and Hodgson will apparently turn to the Liverpool striker in an attempt to add to that statistic.

Ashley Young will return to his usual club position on the left wing and James Milner will remain on the right despite his disappointing game against France on Monday.

"I am not worried about our attacking play," said Hodgson, during a Thursday press conference which saw him repeatedly questioned about his attacking ambition.

"We have the quality of players and who can score and we have a world-class player of our own to bring back - and I know he is very anxious to get into the team."
