Nike_Ad_March2014Nike has released new colorways for the primary silos.  The colors will be on the feet of most of their key players through the end of the 2013/14 European campaign.
adizero-F50-Crazylightadidas is coming right at you with this bold look for a groundbreaking cleat.  The adizero F50 crazylight is the lightest cleat in history and has a stunning in motion paint job to boot.  Gareth Bale will be the poster child for this stunning cleat debuting it on the field in Real Madrid’s Champions League clash on March 18.

Messi_370_topIf you are reading this you have probably missed out on a chance to buy a pair of these limited edition cleats.  The cleat is in tribute to Lionel Messi setting the Barcelona goalscoring record by hitting home his 370th goal for the Blaugrana.

Arguable the 2 biggest launches of 2014 came from adidas and Nike with the introduction of the and the adidas Samba Primeknit and the Nike Magista. They both have a woven upper at the heart of what makes them special.

Primeknit_frontLuis Suarez dis-spelled any notion that a woven cleat could not get the job done when he scored in the on field debut of the cleat.  The Liverpool striker added insult to injury with the final goal in the Reds 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Magista_NorthThe media from around the globe, including Soccer365, were on hand for the unveiling of the Nike Magista.  The cleat uses Nike FlyKnit technology and included a mid-top cup and sock-like inner lining to make the player’s foot one with the cleat.

Carnival_lineupCarnival is one of the biggest times of the year in Brazil and the festive holiday is part of the marketing by adidas heading into the World Cup 2014.  Feathers, ticker tape, and flash inspired this collection of colorways for the main adidas silos.

February 2014

evoPower_1Puma started the campaign for the release of their new silo, the evoPower, with a great teaser campaign utlizing the face of the new silo Mario Balotelli (Part 1 and Part 2 of the tease).  The newsprint finally fell off to reveal a great looking and bold red colorway for the new silo.  And take an Up-Close look at the new cleat.

Vapor_02_2Nike added some flash and a flashback with the Mercurial Vapor IX Fast Forward ’02 Edition cleat. The cleat was in tribute to the cleat worn by Ronaldo as Brazil won the 2002 World Cup.

adidas-Messi-adizero-F50Lionel Messi was handed this colorful cleat as his signature cleat for the remainder of the European season.

January 2014

CopaMundial_SambaColorsThe Copa Mundial is a classic but took on a new look.  The colors were not universally   The colorways were released with the World Cup 2014 in mind and these being the colors that the 3-stripes were tying to the quadrennial tournament.

puma_peach_1The Puma evoSpeed got an updated look with the release of the Shark Blue/Fluo Peach/Fluo Yellow look.

Nike has started the year with some great new colorways for some of their most popular cleats.  The latest are the new colorway for the Hypervenom silo launched last year, Nike Hypervenom Phantom SG Pro (Neo Lime/Poison Green/Total Crimson/Black), the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX SG Pro (Neo Lime/Metallic Silver/Polarized Blue/Total Crimson), and the Nike CTR360 Maestri III AG (Atomic Orange/Black-Total Orange).
Nike_Hypervenom_greenNike_mercurial_greenNike_CTR_MaestroIII_Orangeadidas has been making waves with bolder colorways and will no doubt have big plans this year.  As the major sponsor of the World Cup, providing the official soccer ball – the Brazuca, as well as gear for the tournament, they will want to make a splash with the footwear on the players.

The Samba Pack was released in 2013 but the colors of Brazil are the best way to start thinking about this summer.
