He collected 6 pieces of silverware with his best years coming while playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy. He won 2 MLS Supporters Shields (1998 and 2002), 2 U.S. Open Cups (2001 and 2005) and 1 Concacaf Champions Cup (2000) with the southern California side. He did not play a game but was part of the New York Red Bulls 2013 Supporters’ Shield run as well.

MLS Conference Championship Second Legs
The teams competing in MLS Cup will be known by Sunday afternoon with the second legs being played this weekend. After finishing the first leg 0-0, Sporting KC will host the Houston Dynamo on Saturday and Portland will host Real Salt Lake with the challenge of reversing a 4-2 first leg loss.
Orlando City Soccer Club Joins MLS
1 year ago few fans or pundits would have predicted that Orlando would be announced as the 21st MLS franchise but that is exactly what happened on Tuesday. The Florida side will start play in 2015. The ownership group led by Flávio Augusto da Silva and Phil Rawlins moved quickly to build the brand after moving the team, currently in the USL PRO, from Texas 3 years ago.
The team will bring a new look to MLS. They will be the first team to wear purple jerseys.
Simunic In Hot Water with FIFA
Croatia defender Joe Simunic is in hot water with FIFA after celebrating by instigating pro-Nazi chants after Croatia qualified for the World Cup 2014. 10-man Croatia defeated Iceland 2-0 in the second league of the UEFA World Cup play-in match. The first leg ended 0-0.
After the game Simunic played DJ grabbing a microphone and going to the center of the field and shouting to the fans ‘For the homeland!’ which they replied ‘Ready.’ This was the cry of the pro-Nazi Ustashas during World War II.
He was fined $4,300.00 for the chant.
U.S. WNT Open 2014 Against Canada
After an unbeaten 2013, the United States women’s national team will try and continue the unbeaten run in 2014. They open the campaign on January 31 against Canada at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The 9 pm ET kick-off will be aired on Fox Sports 1.
