After opening the season in Los Angeles, Mike Magee was traded to the Chicago and caught fire on the way to finishing with 21 goals on the campaign and was named the 2013 Volkswagon MLS Most Valuable Player today.
Magee was traded to the Fire on May 25. He scored 6 goals with the southern California side but really found his form once in the Windy City. He scored 15 goals and added 4 assists in Chicago. It was a breakout season for the forward. Prior to this year, his best scoring season came in 2003 when he scored 7 for the MetroStars.
Magee beat out former teammate LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane and Montreal Impact forward Marco Di Vaio.
