The Champions League group stage draw took place in Monaco on thursday, with five British teams having their fates decided.

When the draw got under way, Chelsea were put into group A, Arsenal were put into group G, Liverpool found themselves in group D, while defending champions Manchester United slotted into group E.

Scottish side Celtic were unfortunate to be draw in the same group as the Red Devils, while all British teams avoided the German threat posed by Bayern Munich.
