Andriy Voronin and Lucas Leiva found the net as Liverpool maintained their winning start to the pre-season with a 2-1 victory over FC Lucerne on Wednesday.
The first goal took 10 minutes to arrive and was setup by Dani Pacheco who weaved some magic around the box before finding the run of Lucas. The Brazilian showed good composure to slide the ball past David Zibung.
But new signing Philipp Degen lost out on a far-post header two minutes later and Gavranovic was on hand to convert a free header for the equaliser.
Voronin restored Liverpool’s lead on 36 minutes with a 16-yard lob. The nearest Liverpool came to a third followed some great link-up between Lucas and Voronin, but the Ukrainian striker found the side-netting from 10 yards out.
